1,000 Stories

Joins us in celebrating 1,000 Weelunk.com stories published since our launch on Nov. 1, 2014.

That number represents 1.5 million pageviews from readers like you, hard work by our Chief Writer and Editor, Steve Novotney, and over 200 contributed stories from our “Weelunkers,” whose dedication and commitment to Wheeling, W.Va., have been read and shared around the world.  With that being said, we are still being asked: “What the heck is Weelunk?”

Some think it is strictly a facebook page, and while there is one of those, we also have a website: weelunk.com.

Although you can go to the Weelunk website and scroll through and search for past articles, what we are hearing is that people are missing articles.  To help with this situation, we have created the “The Weelunk Weekly” email.  It is a recap of the most talked about, read, and shared stories from the previous week, neatly put together with descriptions and links.

To sign up for the email click here: The Weelunk Weekly  and click subscribe in the top left corner.

“Weelunk” – the Delaware Native American Indian name for “Place of the Skull” – considered to be the origin of the name of Wheeling, W.Va.

Thank you for Doing Something Wheeling; we can’t wait to read the next 1,000 stories.
