Reach for the Stars With a Taste of Linsly

The Linsly School will host the seventh annual Taste of Linsly at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24, in the Banes Hall Cafetorium sponsored by The Glessner Group. This year’s enchanting theme, Reach for the Stars, will set the tone for an evening of live entertainment, delicious food and wine from a variety of local restaurants and caterers, as well as an amazing list of silent and live auction items and raffle prizes.

From a luxury ski vacation for eight in a Southwind Mountaintop Townhouse at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, to a vacation home in Reunion, Fla., to an overnight stay in a Treetop Vila and ziplining passes at Grand Vue Park, as well as a variety of themed raffle baskets, there is something for everyone’s budget at the Taste of Linsly. One of the new auction items this year is a privately catered three-course dinner for eight in the comfort of your own home by Chef Noah Fraley from Aladdin Food Services. Other featured auction items this year include a downtown Pittsburgh Date Night Package at the Omni William Penn in downtown Pittsburgh and a Here We Go Pittsburgh Package that includes four Steeler tickets in the Champions Club Level. Guests also will have the opportunity to participate in a Chinese Raffle, where tickets start at $5, with fabulous prizes as well.

The evening will feature elegant cuisine from several area vendors, including As You Like It Catering by Bob Bailey, Silver Chopsticks, Mmm…Popcorn, 19 Coffee Company, Chicco Baccello Bakery of Washington, Pa., Cupcakes by Gina, Generations and Ye Olde Alpha. Guests will enjoy a selection of wine from Good Mansion Wines and beer from Carenbauer Distributing Corp.

According to Aimee Zimmerman, head of the Taste of Linsly planning committee, the Taste of Linsly has become one of the most anticipated social and fundraising events of the year for the school.

“The event continues to evolve and grow each year,” said Zimmerman. “We are thrilled to have the support of our school and local community, including our title sponsor, The Glessner Group, as well as the many local food and beverage vendors that continue to help make our event such a success year after year.”

Linsly Headmaster, Justin Zimmerman explained that proceeds from this year’s Taste of Linsly event will support the Student Health and Wellness programs at Linsly.

“The overall health and wellness of our students is always of upmost importance,” explained Zimmerman. “For students to learn and reach their potential, they must feel well physically and mentally. As a result, we plan to raise additional funds to enhance our middle and upper school health program, bring in guest speakers, and support general wellness programs related to nutrition, exercise, stress-management, and other adolescent issues. We are so proud to have Linsly trustees, faculty, parents, alumni and members of our local community participate in the Taste of Linsly to support such a worthy cause. We would especially like to thank The Glessner Group for its support as our title sponsor this year.”

Tickets purchased in advance are $50 per person or $65 at the door. Sponsorship opportunities for businesses are also available for this event. For more information about Taste of Linsly, to donate an auction or raffle item, or to register online, go to www.linsly.org/tol.
