The Luck of the Islands will have one winner as the Junior League of Wheeling presents Affair With Emerald Flair at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Artisan Center, above River City in Wheeling.
This year the grand prize raffle winner will receive a four-night trip for two with roundtrip airfare that is customizable to any Caribbean destination. The trip is worth $2,500 and is sponsored by Harvey Goodman Realty, Benesch Attorneys at Law, and River City Restaurant and Banquets.
Affair With Emerald Flair is the Junior League of Wheeling’s annual fundraising event that draws hundreds of guests each year for a festive evening of food and entertainment by Jukebox, one of the Pittsburgh’s most popular bands; New Age Adenas, a popular local band; and D.J. Nick Arno will emcee the event and provide entertainment at the after party, sponsored by iHeart Radio, at River City beginning at 10 p.m.
Guests will enjoy a variety of cuisine from some of the Ohio Valley’s most well-known restaurants including Pickles Eatery and Bar, Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream, Mamma C’s Bakery and Deli, The Vagabond Kitchen, T.J.’s Sports Garden, River City Restaurant and Banquets, DeFelice Bros. Pizza, Longhorn Steakhouse, Ideal Provisions, Generations Restaurant & Pub, Kroger Snowfox Sushi, Kroger Bakery, Mmm…Popcorn, The Soup Shack, Wheeling Brewing Company and Ye Olde Alpha.
Additionally, Affair With Emerald Flair will include a Chinese basket raffle giving patrons the chance to win amazing prizes such as Pittsburgh Pirates tickets, a Generations beer party for 20 people, Grow OV CSA package, a trip to Kalahari Waterpark, Jamboree In The Hills passes, spa experiences and more. There also will be a silent auction giving away six trip vouchers to Caribbean resort destinations.
Another exciting addition this year is the BYOB giveaway. Bring a bottle of alcohol, and you will be awarded a ticket with the chance at the end of the evening to win the lot. Additional tickets can be purchased for $10.
This event is open to the general public, and tickets can be purchased for $30 in advance at www.affairwithemeraldflair.com. Tickets are $35 at the door. Ticket includes a wide selection of hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine.
Proceeds from Affair With Emerald Flair ensure continued success in maintaining the group’s impact in the community by helping local women and children: offering nutritional education to local children and families through the Kids in the Kitchen program, packaging meals to be distributed to the local homeless community; providing a spa day to the women at the battered women’s shelter; and funding for other important community initiatives.
