Do Something: Help Grow Warwood Pride

Grow Warwood Pride will be painting the fence surrounding Garden Park in Warwood starting at 9:00am. The group has rallied volunteers from a variety of organizations, including Bob’s Wish – Globes of Hope, Boy Scouts Troop 6, Clearview Volunteer Fire Department, Ohio Valley Jaycees, Orrick, Scott Reed for House of Delegates, Warwood LEO Club, and Warwood Terrace Association to join in their efforts. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Volunteers are needed to complete this project. Grow Warwood Pride is looking for anyone willing to donate their time to assist in this aesthetic upgrade to one of the central features of Warwood. You don’t have to have painting experience, just the willingness to help. Garden Park features a swimming pool; baseball field; basketball court; football field; summer concerts; festivals; a playground; and an area with benches and trees.

The goal of the fence painting is larger than just upgrading the fence. Grow Warwood Pride wants to bring all different types of organizations and individuals together to show that working as a community can achieve goals to improve where we call home. This includes fire, police, fraternity, sorority, civic groups, and more! Volunteers are asked to wear a t-shirt with the organization they represent! In light of all of the negativity seen in the news every day, volunteers are asked to jump at the chance to show that their organization is a part of improving the community!
The fence painting project is possible thanks to the city of Wheeling providing the materials for the fence painting after it was identified as in need of a facelift in a previous meeting of the group.
