The 40th Annual Oglebayfest Is This Weekend

The Ohio County Fair, the Phil Maxwell Artists’ and Gourmet Market in Mansion Woods, the Rathskeller, a parade and fireworks are just a few of the many festivities guests will enjoy at the 40th annual Oglebayfest, slated for this weekend, October 6-8th.

This year, Oglebayfest promises new enhancements including expanded Rathskeller hours on Friday, with live entertainment kicking off at 4:30 p.m. at Hess Shelter. Additionally, the Oglebay Garden Bistro will offer lunch and dinner service Friday-Sunday featuring new, seasonal menu items such as Beef on Weck and Curried Carrot & Ginger Soup.

President & CEO Steve Hilliard explained that Oglebayfest began in 1978 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Oglebay Park. Since then, the popularity of the fall festival has continued to grow, and the event now draws thousands of guests annually.

“Oglebayfest has become a fall favorite for many throughout the tri-state area. A wide variety of entertainment and numerous activities are on tap for the weekend. Oglebayfest is a wonderful way to celebrate the fall season,” he said.

Oglebayfest offers free parking and complementary trolley and bus service circling Wilson Lodge, Crispin Center, The Hilltop, Oglebay Good Zoo and Schenk Lake.
