The state’s largest antiques show is set for this weekend when Wilson Lodge at Oglebay is transformed into an antiques marketplace. The Oglebay Institute’s 64th annual Antiques Show and Sale begins Friday, April 6, with a cocktail party at the Glass Museum and a dessert preview party at Wilson Lodge. • Oglebay Institute is hosting several free programs Friday, April 6, as part of Wheeling’s monthly First Fridays event. View the latest exhibit in The Gallery at Towngate, featuring the art of Cheryl Carnegie. Upstairs in the theater, a series of short films will be playing. Guests can enjoy a glass of wine, craft beer and light refreshments. At 8 p.m., Towngate’s improvisational comedy troupe, The Left of Centre Players, will perform in the theater. • Wheeling Heritage will host an opening reception for Bernie Peace Recent Work, Mostly, from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, April 5, at the Artisan Center, 1400 Main St., Wheeling. The exhibit will feature monoprints, photo collages and other mixed media work Peace has created throughout his career. The exhibit will run through April 26 in the 3rd Floor Loft Gallery. The Ohio County Public Library will present award-winning poet Mary B. Moore as part of the Wheeling Poetry Series.
