Sing! Dance! Perform! Design!
West Liberty University’s music and theater departments are offering a creative summer camp for children ages 8-14. The Performing Arts Summer Camp will take place in Kelly Theatre and on the WLU campus the week of June 11.
“This is the first time for the performing arts summer camp here on the hilltop, and we are looking forward to offering this quality summer camp option to the community,” said Michael Aulick, WLU’s director of theater who is in charge of the camp.
Sessions are designed for morning or afternoon with a one-hour break for lunch. Campers must select from Performance Camp, Dance Camp, Vocal Music Camp or Theater Design Camp. All sessions run from June 11-15, and a final showcase performance will conclude the camp at 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 15.
The time of the camp is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the morning session scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and the afternoon session scheduled for 1-4 p.m.
Both pre- and post-care is available at 8 a.m. and until 5 p.m. for an additional fee. Lunch also is available in the WLU cafeteria at an additional cost.
Campers may attend morning sessions, afternoon sessions or both. Families enrolling more than one child are eligible for a discount. Campers attending full-day sessions also are eligible for a discount.
Cost is $75 per morning or afternoon session (five days). Lunch is an additional $35 for the week. Full-day campers receive a $25 discount and families a $12.50 discount per child. Pre- and post-care is an additional $50.
