Pumpkin Patch Movie Night Grab a cozy blanket and chair and head to the Schrader Environmental Education Center at Oglebay on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 7:15 – 8 pm for an outdoor movie night. Pick a mini pumpkin from the patch before a screening of Casper’s Halloween Special. Popcorn and hot cocoa will be provided. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be moved indoors. On Saturday, Oct. 24 the Crazy 8s improv group will be performing at the Towngate Theatre at 8 p.m. These brave performers hit the Towngate Theatre stage without a script, props or a safety net. Breast Cancer Awareness Photoshoot In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Elite Massage Therapy WV is hosting a photoshoot to recognize the individuals and families who have experienced or are currently experiencing breast cancer. Both group and individual photos will be taken at Generations Restaurant from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. Vendors and makeup artists will be on-site to make the event extra-special. During the event, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews will be documented and later shared on YouTube to help share the experiences of those in our community who are navigating this life-changing diagnosis. Community Yoga Classes Practicing yoga can be beneficial for both your mental and physical health. Whether you are new to yoga or are an experienced yogi, stop by one of these community yoga classes this week: Generation Wheeling will continue its free outdoor yoga series at Market Plaza on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. through October (weather permitting). Generation Wheeling’s own, Betsy Sweeny will lead an all-level, beginner-friendly, slow flow classes at no cost to attendees. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendees are asked to bring their own mat, blocks and any other materials for their practice. Follow Generation Wheeling on Facebook for updates. Across the river in Martins Ferry, Anissa Picard and Erica Kessel will offer weekly yoga and meditation classes on Fridays at 11 am at the Martins Ferry Recreation Center.
