Everything comes to an end with the Homecoming dance. Students gather together in their groups at Oglebay, the Waterfront, and other popular places around Wheeling where parents take pictures of their children before the students depart for local restaurants before going to the dance.
This year the dance was held at Wheeling Jesuit. Central welcomed the return of alum Hunter Frazier to be the DJ. One of the highlights was the announcement of the Homecoming king. Out of six candidates, the chosen king for 2016 was Clayton McCabe. The dance between the king and queen, Hannah Dieffenbaugher, officially started the dance.
The dance represents the great qualities Central is proud to continue. Students and faculty unite for an evening of fun and delight at the dance. Friends get together and discuss the evening or how the dance is in general. It is a wondrous occasion that is celebrated every year. It is one of the first major events that sets off the school year. Homecoming is the defining point of first semester just as Spring Formal or Prom is later in the year. I know I speak for all the seniors: our last Homecoming kicked the year off with a blast.
