Just outside of Wheeling on the weekend of October 21 regional residents will find a fully formed Harvest Festival free and open, containing food trucks, live music, a pumpkin patch and a list of other assorted things.
The event is programmed for all ages, and it is sponsored by Main Street Bank and the Medical Park Anesthesiologists.
This is a two-day festival held on the grounds of the historic Sandscrest Conference and Resort Center. Grow Ohio Valley utilizes about three acres of land on this site to grow food for the local community, and this event will incite cause to celebrate such fact, as well as this continuing partnership between organizations.
In addition to the previously mentioned festival features, attendees will find hayrides, kids’ activities, a corn maze, and alcoholic beverages.
“We want people to come by and take the time to enjoy the fall weather with friends or family,” Sam Amberg of Grow Ohio Valley said. “That, and we want people to see one of our very active farm sites – something they may not know is so close to home.”
Pumpkins from Grow Ohio Valley’s pumpkin patch will be available for purchase. Visitors will be able to go into the field themselves and pick the right one for them.
Festival hours are between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on October 21 and 22. Sandscrest is located at 143 Sandcrest Road, Wheeling.
