Mark your calendars “busy” for lunch on the first Friday of the month throughout the summer.
Wheeling Heritage, in partnership with Williams Lea Tag, is hosting Lunchtime Live! at Market Plaza. This free concert series is intended to engage the downtown community during the midday break.
The concerts will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 1, July 6, Aug. 3 and Sept. 7.
Attendees are encouraged to visit a nearby restaurant and get a lunch to go, then head to the Market Plaza for live music. Restaurants such as Tito’s Sloppy Doggs, Vagabond Kitchen, the Edge Downtown and Tacoholix will offer grab-and-go options on concert dates, although call ahead-orders are recommended. Mmm…Popcorn also will be offering popcorn in a variety of flavors.
Musicians for the series include local artists who perform a variety of music genres:
- Friday, June 1: Logan Wojcik, who kicks off the series, will perform original and well-known country hits.
- Friday, July 6: Eli Lambe, a keyboardist, will play a variety of music, including jazz, pop, rock and alternative.
- Friday, Aug. 3: Jason Treuman’s acoustic act includes hits from the 1950s to current.
- Friday, Sept. 7: Wheeling Park Bluegrass Band, comprised of Wheeling Park students, performs uniquely American, Appalachian music.
This free concert series is sponsored by Williams Lea Tag, a global leader in marketing and communications services.
