Corpus Christi to Induct New Members Into Hall of Fame

The fourth annual Corpus Christi School Hall of Fame dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. The dinner program recognizes notable alumni and friends and acknowledges their commitments to their communities, professions and Corpus Christi School.

“At this celebration, we will be inducting former CCS teacher Susan Agostinelli and alumni Tony Cupp, alumni Dave Glatz, alumni Lee Hendershot, former CCS volunteer Janie Hendershot and Corpus Christi Parish eighth pastor Father A. James Myles into the 2019 CCS Hall of Fame Class. These distinguished names will be added to our official display in the school cafeteria,” said Miranda Zambito, advancement director

    • Susan Agostinelli taught first grade at Corpus Christi School for 31 years. Now retired, she still volunteers at CCS regularly. She belongs to St. Joseph Parish in Bridgeport, Ohio, and to the Catholic Women Association. She was honored in 1991 as Teacher of the Year by a local radio station.
    • Tony Cupp graduated from Corpus Christi School in 1951 and resides in Wheeling. Remaining a fully involved member of Corpus Christi Parish, he was active in the choir for 20 years, the CCD board, parish council and school board.
    • Dave Glatz graduated from Corpus Christi School in 1960 and resides in Wheeling. Glatz currently serves as chairman of the Corpus Christi Parish finance council and has done so for over 20 years. He is active in the parish and is a supporter of Corpus Christi School.
    • Lee Hendershot graduated from Corpus Christi School in 1960, and Janie Hendershot graduated from St. Vincent De Paul School. Both have volunteered in a variety of ways at CCS while their three children were attending. Together, along with Father A. J. Myles and Mildred Myles, they started the Corpus Christi Lawn Festival held in Garden Park yearly.
    • Father A. James Myles was ordained to the priesthood on May 26, 1962, and served as the first pastor of St. Jude Parish in Glen Dale. He then went on to be named the eighth pastor of Corpus Christi Parish in 1979 where he served until his death 1998. He was known as a people priest, and his legacy will always be remembered.

The Hall of Fame dinner will be catered by Generations Restaurant & Pub, and a cash bar will be available. Doors open at 6 p.m.; tables of eight can be reserved. Tickets ($50) are available to purchase at the school.
