The Monarch Company of John Marshall High School will present “The Rainbow Fish Musical,” written by Austin Zumbro and directed by Tracey Filben. Performances will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, and Sunday, Nov. 17, in the John Marshall High School Center for Performing Arts.
Meet a charming school of fish and sea-creature characters who admire the famous Rainbow Fish, the most beautiful fish in all the ocean. When Rainbow Fish refuses to share her vibrant, shimmering scales the whole ocean seems to turn against the vain creature. Very unhappy about this, the Rainbow Fish seeks out the wise Octopus who helps the young fish learn that it’s far better to be admired for being kind than for being beautiful.
Cast members include Emily Anderson (Rainbow Fish), Lauren Brannan (Little Fish), Madi Blake (Octopus), Leah Reuschel (Starfish), Creed Kidney (Hermit Crab), Paige Wallace (Clownfish), Marianna Martinez (Pufferfish), Justice Robinson (Ms. Minnow) and Jessica Jasinski (Sardine). The school of fish is made up of Brayden Snider, Logan Montz, Tim Wilson, Sydney Hess, Bella Bruno, Khloe Trussell and Gracie Woods.
The production staff includes Jonathan Bucci (light design), Tony Wood (sound technician) and TJ Romick (set construction). Student crew includes Abby Weed (stage manager), Janen Ritchea and Savannah Wood (assistant stage managers), Cloey Broski, Eddie Huck, Sydney Coss, Hope Yoho, Chris Allen, Sarah Fitzpatrick, Sav Nelson, Olivia Miller, Dylan Wood, Emilee Doty, Cora Spielvogel and Michaela Hall.
