Summer Sunday Entertainment Series at Oglebay’s Anne Kuchinka Amphitheater

Prepare to have tons of fun! Color Me Au-Some 5K is a charity run and walk with a fun and colorful twist. It is modeled after highly popular color runs throughout the country where participants are covered, coated, swathed, and plastered with dry paint at color stations throughout the course. Participants are encouraged to wear white t-shirts to the event to fully engage in the “color-me process.”
The Color Me Au-Some 5K course incorporates one of the city’s oldest and most recognizable landmarks, the Wheeling Suspension Bridge. The course starts at the picturesque Wheeling Waterfront, goes through downtown, over the historic Suspension Bridge, around Wheeling Island, back over the Suspension Bridge, and down Main Street returning to the waterfront.
Following the race, participants can enjoy refreshments, door prizes, music, and an awards ceremony. Awards will be given to the top five female and male walkers and runners and the top two female and male finishers in age categories.
Secret Kitchens Tour of Wheeling and Gourmet Market
Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Secret Kitchens tour gives area residents a voyeuristic opportunity to visit six of Wheeling’s most spectacular home kitchens. Whether you’re interested in a total kitchen re-do or simple and efficient ways to transform your exiting space, the Secret Kitchens Tour will leave you with plenty of ideas to take home.
Plaster Restoration Workshop Part 2
Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Straight from the Wheeling Young Preservationists:
Sarel Venter has been restoring plaster in West Virginia since 1996. During this time he has developed methods for keeping aging plaster on traditional walls where it belongs without the compromise of having to live with unsightly cracks and blemishes. We are very fortunate to have Sarel here in Wheeling, where he has worked on many of our iconic structures. He has graciously offered to share some of the knowledge techniques he has developed throughout his career during this four hour workshop.

3,000+ participants, 17,000 wings, proceeds to benefit the Wheeling Health Right. What is more Wheeling than eating wings to benefit a great cause?
