Grow Ohio Valley Invites You To Their Annual Harvest Festival

Grow Ohio Valley is thrilled to host its 5th annual Harvest Festival this Saturday, October 22nd, from 11 a.m. to dark. The festival will take place at the Lincoln Meadow Farm on 800 Grandview Street in Wheeling and plans to feature lots of live entertainment, children’s activities, fall foods like apple cider and kettle corn, and even a pumpkin patch!

Most importantly, however, Grow OV’s Harvest Festival is one of the non-profit’s ways of further extending nutritional benefits to families throughout the Ohio Valley. This year, they are accepting donations to benefit the Public Market’s SNAP Stretch Program, which aims to offer Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) shoppers a 50% discount on foods while ensuring that local farmers are still being paid in full for their crops.

Admission to the festival is free for the community, but people can get further involved with Grow Ohio Valley and the festival’s goal for the year through volunteering and donating. Those who are interested can fill out the volunteer form on their website at growov.org/volunteer or email them at volunteer@growov.org to learn more! In addition to this, any donations from the community are being matched by an anonymous donor, and those who are able to and wish to donate can do so at donorbox.org/sustainsnapstretch or in person at the Harvest Festival this weekend!
