WHEELING, W.Va. – Sept. 18, 2020 – Wheeling Heritage’s Artisan Center Shop will be selling a limited quantity of Keep Calm and Create gift boxes to provide buyers with some much-needed TLC, on sale today! Each box will include a copy of the poetry book Woman in Red Anorak by Marc Harshman, an original collage card by Bob Villamagna, one 7 oz. candle from Apartment Two and a Loving WV Bear Hug sticker.
In addition to the gift box, buyers will receive access to an exclusive virtual Wheeling Heritage program, set for Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. WV Poet Laureate Marc Harshman and WV’s 2016 Artist of the Year Bob Villamagna will serve as guest speakers for the event. Harshman and Villamagna will give insights into their own artistic process and suggestions on how to incorporate more creativity into your life, too.
With many of us spending more time at home, setting aside time to read, light a candle, and admire the art of others is a great way to de-stress and, maybe, become inspired to create your own work of art. That’s the hope of Natalie Kovacs, manager of the Artisan Center Shop.
“Making something can be a tremendous outlet. It allows you to focus on what’s in front of you instead of the news or what your neighbors are up to,” said Kovacs. “Even if you don’t consider yourself a creative person, there are still many ways to express yourself that do not require any experience or expectation. We hope that those who buy a box and attend the virtual program will leave feeling refreshed and inspired.”
The Keep Calm and Create Box will be on sale beginning today (Sept. 18) at noon. Each box costs $50, plus shipping. With only ten boxes available, visit artisancenter.com to purchase yours before they are gone!
