The Ohio County Public Library invites you to “Lunch With Books” this winter.
Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at noon, Lunch With Books: The Color of Sundays
Sportswriter Andrew Conte be at Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library on Tuesday, February 7 at noon to discuss his book, The Color of Sundays: The Secret Strategy that Built the Steelers Dynasty. It’s the story of how Bill Nunn Jr., Art Rooney, and the Steelers front office reshaped the franchise. Nunn’s strategy was simple; scout talent where many other teams had failed and bring in players from the historically black colleges and universities. Conte, an investigative reporter for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, is the author of Breakaway: The Inside Story of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Rebirth. Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Patrons are welcome to bring a bag lunch, and complimentary beverages are provided. Tuesday, February 14 at noon, Lunch With Books: Murder Never Dies
Author and researcher, George Sidiropolis, will be at Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library on Tuesday, February 14 at noon to discuss his new book, Murder Never Dies: Crime and Corruption in the Friendly City, a detailed chronology and factual account of decades of rampant virgin crime and corruption in a city that became known as “Little Chicago.” The research illustrates a life experience of virtuous people who suffered unfairly and were shamefully abandoned. Their profane and immunized guardians engaged in wholesale bribery and unlimited decadence that made the city a bread basket of crime. Wheeling was forever changed. Jeanne Finstein will be at Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library on Tuesday, February 21 at noon to share her experiences during a recent trip to Cuba – arriving just days after the death of Fidel Castro. She will describe life in the country under its totalitarian government, sharing pictures that include art, food, housing … and the ubiquitous 1950s cars.
