The Hunt is On! Scavenger Hunt Planned for July 24 in Downtown Wheeling Provided June 15, 2021 Contact: Claudia Raymer Executive Director 304-232-5600 OhioCountyFRN@yahoo.com Wheeling, WV – The pandemic has hit local non-profit fundraisers hard over the last year. The Ohio County Family Resource Network is among those impacted, having cancelled their annual Mother May I Have This Dance in both 2020 and 2021. To try to fill that gap, the FRN brainstormed ideas for a fundraiser that could be held safely, primarily outdoors with ever-changing guidance relating to COVID-19. Always wanting to keep fundraisers aligned with their family-centered mission, the FRN will be holding an inaugural scavenger hunt on Saturday, July 24 from 12-3 p.m. The cost is $25 per person, includes a t-shirt with team sizes required to include 2-6 people. “We really wanted to do something fun, an event to bring people together, get people outside and raise money to help the FRN continue services to Ohio County,” explained Project Coordinator Jami Robinson who is also serving as the lead in planning this event. Tasks will offer participants a variety of task options including locating items, completing tasks, and posting pictures and videos. “Our hope is that by the end of the scavenger hunt, teams have learned more about Wheeling but have also gone places and had experiences they’ve never had before.” Teams can download registration forms through the organization’s website at www.ocfrn.com and can pay via PayPal or check. Deadline to register is July 1. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Jami Robinson at 304-232-5600 or OCFRNOffice@yahoo.com.
