Faith in Action is an agency like no other in the Ohio Valley. Originally organized by a group of congregations in Ohio and Marshall Counties in the fall of 1994; Faith in Action Caregivers supports the independent living of older adults and people with disabilities through the shared ministry of faith communities. Since the formation, Faith in Action has grown to meet the needs of the older adults and individuals with disabilities in Belmont, Marshall and Ohio Counties.
The services provided by Faith in Action volunteers are often the simple tasks that make the difference in a person’s ability to remain independent. Older adults and individuals with disabilities in our community get more than a ride to the Doctor’s office or a trip to Kroger for groceries. They hear a friendly voice when they get in the car and have a conversation with a caring, compassionate friend.  The impact is touching lives, building relationships – being a friend.
Faith in Action assists an average of 1,800 individuals/year. All services remain available without charge to residents of our community regardless of income level.
The kindness and generosity of the community and the willingness of individuals to help others have made Faith in Action what it is today. Faith in Action relies on community support; by selling and delivering hoagies, selling Terri Lynn Nuts and local gift cards and the Triathlon/Duathlon and Disc Golf.
The 2nd Annual Disc Golf Tournament is August 26, 2017 at Grand Vue Park. The cost is $30/individual player, $60/2-person team and $120/4-person team. The cost increases $5.00 on the day of the event.
