Volunteer Wheeling, a program of Wheeling Heritage, is excited to announce its participation in the WV Make it Shine program, a statewide cleanup held each year in April. This year, the organization will be sprucing up three city parks and the surrounding streets to get them ready for spring. The event will take place on Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to noon, and all supplies will be provided.
To ensure that everything goes smoothly, Volunteer Wheeling is calling for interested community members to join them at one of three clean-up events happening across Wheeling on April 15. The events will take place at the JB Chambers Memorial Wheeling YMCA Playground in Elm Grove; 16th Street Sports Complex / JB Chambers Memorial Recreation Park in East Wheeling; and Tank Field, located on Northern Parkway in North Wheeling. Each site will have a team lead that will bring supplies needed for the cleanup.
“We’re excited to participate in the WV Make it Shine program and are looking forward to making a positive impact in our community,” said Ellen Gano, vice-chair of Wheeling Heritage’s board of directors and Volunteer Wheeling representative. “All we need is you! Please sign up to ensure we have enough supplies for everyone.”
