Weelunk’s First Anniversary Nov. 1 So someday we will have a huge party and invite EVERYONE. But for this birthday, wherever you are Saturday night, give a toast out to the Weelunk nation; we will be toasting all of you for sure. Thank you for this wild ride! Trick-or-Treat Thursday 6:30-7:30 p.m. One of the best neighborhood nights of the year in Wheeling. October Happy Hour Thursday 5 p.m. The Wheeling Young Preservationists invite you to come out and have a drink at River City. This is a laid back affair meant for you to mingle with other like-minded folks that are excited about Wheeling, they look forward to seeing you then! Children’s Museum Halloween Party Saturday 3-5 p.m. Celebrate Halloween at the Children’s Museum! Continue the fun after the Trick-or-Treating is done! Activities include: – Face Painting, – Tie-Dyed Monster T-Shirts, – Pumpkin Painting, & – Ominous Hor D’oeuvres They have limited pumpkins and t-shirts available so register online @www.cmovkids.org Would you like to hear a scary story? Saturday 8 p.m. Four members of the West Virginia Storytelling Guild will present a variety of ghost stories for adults under the title, “Would You Like to Hear a Scary Story?” The concert is a joint fundraising event primarily to benefit The Blue Church renovations, as well as the WVSG ongoing professional development workshops around the state. 2nd Annual Monster’s Ball Saturday 8 p.m. From the Vagabond (Kitchen) himself: Last year’s Monster’s Ball was seriously one of the best times we’ve ever had at the Kitchen. And you know us, we like to party. There will be a cover charge, and that will cover your food and beer at the party. There will also be another costume contest, so get your ass over to Stages sooner than later and let Gael and her talented staff help you win it! (Patricia Croft has been bragging non-stop for the past year!) (But seriously, her Cyclops costume was dope.) (And she hasn’t really been bragging.) The Noble Source’s Hallowed Grand Opening Party Saturday 8 p.m. If you dare, head to 2242 Market St. for a costume dance party. That’s all we know, but the mystery of the place is enough reason to check it out. Halloween at WBC Saturday 8 p.m. This is where we will be, celebrating our first birthday with our good friends who helped us kick things off last October. Cheers Wheeling Brewing Company! Halloween costume party and contest, dollar off all house pints to those in costume, and a $50 gift card will go to the winner! Bring your appetites ’cause who can resist our specials like Salmon Primavera with shrimp or spicy sweet potato and chorizo soup made from locally sourced veges and meat.
