YWCA Wheeling is pleased to announce the hire of Liz Handzus as the organization’s new Director of Marketing and Development. She joins YWCA Wheeling’s leadership team and will work closely with Executive Director, Lori Jones.
“I am pleased to welcome Liz Handzus as the YWCA Wheeling’s Director of Marketing and Development,” said Jones. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and ideas to this important position and I look forward to working with her to strengthen connections and continue our mission of the YWCA.”
Handzus received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Psychology from West Liberty University, where she graduated in May of 2014. She comes to the YWCA Wheeling from Blueprints, a community action agency in Washington, PA, where she acted as the Outreach and 2GEN Coordinator in the non-profit field for 4 years. She functioned in marketing roles encompassing a broad scope of responsibility.
The YWCA Wheeling is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Since 1906, the YWCA Wheeling has provided services to individuals regardless of race, gender, age or religion, in the West Virginia Northern Panhandle, including Ohio, Marshall, Brooke, Wetzel, Hancock Counties and Belmont and Jefferson counties in Ohio.
