We at Carenbauer Distributing Corp are pleased to announce our new partnership with Big Timber Brewing Company. We’ve had the pleasure of visiting their brewery and tap house in Elkins, WV and it was love at first sip. They have a wide variety of beers for all tastes and occasions. Big Timber becomes the fifth West Virginia brewery that we distribute, and we couldn’t be happier to make great WV brews available to Ohio and Marshall County consumers.
About Big Timber:
Located in the heart of the Allegheny mountains in Elkins, West Virginia, Big Timber Brewing Company is surrounded by great forests, mountains, and rivers. Their name pays homage to the land and local industry that helped build their community.
Brews:
BLONDE – Their Blonde is a light, straw colored ale. The malt sweetness of this beer is offset by the subtle spiciness of rye. It leaves with a dry, clean finish on your palate, and a slight spicy rye aftertaste. Best enjoyed ice cold. ABV 4.0% – IBU 17
PALE ALE – The first thing you notice in their Pale Ale is the light amber color and the floral aroma from dry hopping with Cascades. You get a smooth mouthfeel and that hop bitterness you love, followed by a dry, crisp finish. This beer is balanced and drinkable with a lingering malt sweetness that leaves you looking for more. ABV 5.2% – IBU 37
IPA – More west coast than east, their India Pale Ale pours a light golden color with a slight haze from dry hopping with Chinook hops. The Marris Otter malt backbone gives hints of sweetness but allows the focus of the beer, the hops, to shine. Loads of Ahtanum, Centennial, and Chinook hops fill your mouth with that bitterness we love on the first drink, with more subtle pine, floral and citrus flavors appearing as your palate adapts. ABV 6.5% – IBU 70
DOUBLE BIT IPA – Their Double Bit IPA is a big, juicy double IPA. It pours a hazy golden color, with a big tropical fruit and citrus nose. This smooth drinking beer fills your mouth with big juicy hop flavors, and finishes dry with a lingering of that great hop taste. The hops attribute more flavor than bitterness, and mask the alcohol. Cheers! ABV 8.0% – IBU 77
PORTER – Their Porter pours a deep, burnt umber hue, topped with a tan head. This beer’s rich coffee smell and first taste is followed by hints of chocolate and tobacco. Mildly sweet, it leaves the rich flavors lingering on your palate. ABV 6.5% – IBU 30

We are launching Big Timber during First Fridays in Downtown Wheeling on April 1st! Big Timber will be available in either cans or draft at Market Vines, Casa di Vino, Later Alligator, and River City. Carenbauer’s crew will be on the trolley and in accounts to pass out drink coupons, samples, and some giveaways!
