Attention to Detail’s Jeff Johnson Jr. and his dad Jeff Johnson Sr. walked away with $5,214 in winnings from the 15th Show of Hands sponsored by Wheeling Heritage.
Close to 400 people came out to the event to vote for their favorite of the four businesses vying for the prize.
Competing were: Attention to Detail, a car detailing company, 452 Main St. in North Wheeling; East Wheeling Clayworks, a pottery studio, 747 Main St., also in North Wheeling; Nail City Record, on the third floor of the McClain Building, 40 12th St., Wheeling; and Wheeling Threads, an online design company.
Johnson Jr. enumerated the emotions he felt as he was named winner: “I feel excited, mind blown, humble, appreciative and thankful,” he said following the big check presentation.
Attention to Detail has a part-time staff of seven plus a core crew of workers. The winnings will help to fund a large, prefabricated steel building to allow the company to expand its services and operate during the winter months. Attention to Detail also plans a new carpet cleaning division.
The prize money was provided by sponsor Orrick, the Friends of Show of Hands and money collected at the door.
