Since opening its doors in October 2024, NB Café has become a downtown favorite—serving up coffee, fresh-baked goods, and a welcoming space for families and professionals alike. Now, the café is taking things to a whole new level with a rebrand and ribbon cutting to celebrate its expansion into handcrafted ice cream.

NB Café and Creamery, located at 1000 Main Street in Wheeling, will officially cut the ribbon on Friday, July 18 at 11:00 AM, unveiling the city’s only in-house gourmet creamery, now serving 16 original ice cream flavors made from scratch.
“We set out to make ice cream you can’t get enough of,” said Chris Figaretti, the mind behind the recipes. “We’re using the highest butterfat mix available locally and enhancing it with custard for a flavor and texture that really stands out.”

The rotating menu features something for everyone—from the nostalgic (Butter Pecan, Vanilla Bean, Strawberry) to the bold and indulgent (Buckeye Blast, Mountaineer Moose Tracks, Wild Cherry with dark chocolate chunks).
Other standouts include:
-
Coffee Heath Bar
-
Summer Peach
-
Cookie Dough
-
Birthday Cake
-
Chocolate
-
Lemon Sorbet
-
Black Raspberry Chip
-
Cookies ‘N Cream
…and seasonal surprises to come.
To celebrate the grand reveal, NB will offer $1 off all orders during the Ribbon Cutting and $1 kid cones for children 12 and under. Visitors can meet the team, enjoy free samples, and experience the newest addition to downtown Wheeling’s growing food scene.
But NB Café and Creamery isn’t just about what’s on the menu—it’s about the experience. The shop features Wheeling’s largest indoor, climate-controlled play area, an outdoor playground, and a pocket park nearby, making it a true destination for families.

“The north end of downtown is becoming a magnet for community life,” said Wendy Anderson, Director of Community Relations. “With the Suspension Bridge lit up at night and so many exciting new businesses, it’s the perfect time to bring handcrafted ice cream into the mix.”
Figaretti agrees: “My grandfather, the original chef at Figaretti’s, taught me that excellence is the best business model. We want every scoop to reflect that.”
Situated across from the Capitol Theatre and near hotspots like The Bridge Tavern, Tito’s Sloppy Dogs, Taqueria 304, Elle & Jack’s, The Vagabond Kitchen, Sarah’s on Main, and Waterfront Hall, NB Café and Creamery is helping put downtown Wheeling on the map as a culinary and family-friendly destination.
