The Start of the Business
Bullfrogs and Butterflies celebrated its 20th year in business this past April! After the flood of 2004, the previous business in this location did not reopen. The Eagles restored the building, and soon after, Sarah and her mom, Patti Kota, decided to start their own business there. In April 2005, Bullfrogs and Butterflies (B&B) officially opened its doors!
“At the time, my oldest son had just been born. This was a way for me to be with him while still working,” Sarah shared. “I brought him to the store with me. All three of my kids grew up here; taking naps in the storeroom, walking around in walkers, all of it. The customers loved it too; it felt like being at home.”
Twenty years later, Sarah- along with her mother- in-law Mary Ann Lloyd and Jocelyn Gray- is still providing a high quality secondhand shopping experience for families in the Ohio Valley!
How to Consign with Bullfrogs and Butterflies
Are you wondering how you can consign your children’s gently used clothes, toys, and baby gear at B&B? They have open drop off every other Wednesday. During drop off, clients may bring totes of clothing, toys, and baby gear. They accept clothing seasonally. Baby gear and toys are accepted at any time throughout the year. Please keep in mind that B&B maintains strict standards for quality and cleanliness.

Do you want to stay up to date on the latest arrivals at B&B? Like and follow their Facebook page to see sneak peaks of their newest arrivals. The staff will post photos throughout the day showcasing some of their new items.
Pro tip: When you see items that fall within your child’s size, there is likely a lot more where that came from! Stop in the store and ask to see the specific item that was posted and they will be able to direct you to the bin where it can be found. You will likely find more items within your desired size!
