Crittenton Services Kicks Off Fall Season with Luncheon

Crittenton Services will kick off the fall season with its annual Soup and Salad Luncheon, Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the McLure Hotel, 1200 Market St., Wheeling.

Free parking is available in the adjacent garage. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and lunch begins at noon.

The luncheon features a unique all-you-care-to-eat buffet and includes dozens of gourmet soups, salads and desserts prepared by Ohio Valley chefs and restaurants.

Also included is a soup cook-off, which features chefs from several area restaurants including Coleman’s Fish Market, Eat’ n Park, Oglebay Resort, Parkhurst Dining at Wheeling University, Vagabond Kitchen, Tito’s Sloppy Doggs, Wheeling Brewing Company, West Virginia Northern Culinary Arts and Ye Olde Alpha. Guests can sample each or any of the soups and vote for their favorites.

Proceeds from the luncheon benefit the Crittenton Cares Volunteer Fund, which provides comforting items and events including birthday parties, holiday celebrations, recreational opportunities and Christmas gifts for the young women in Crittenton’s residential program.

Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at www.crittentonwv.org or at the door, and carryout orders are welcome.
