A cornerstone of East Wheeling’s historic 14th Street corridor, Good Mansion Wines has spent the last two decades shaping how the region experiences food and wine. Since opening in April 2006, founder Dominick Cerrone created more than a shop inside the L.S. Good Mansion. He built a place where people stop by for a baguette to share with dinner, or where they sit and enjoy lunch with an old friend. Over time, it has become a space where recommendations feel personal to each customer and where Wheeling’s palate has evolved along with it.
What began as a bold investment during a quieter chapter of downtown has grown into a regional draw, welcoming guests from across the Ohio Valley and beyond. Along the way, Good Mansion Wines introduced a deeper appreciation for Old World wines and specialty imports, coming from the idea that good food and wine are meant to be shared. From the early mornings of baking fresh pastries to helping a customer find the right bottle of wine for their special occasion, it is a place built on simple moments.
Now, as they celebrate 20 years, the legacy continues into a new chapter with a new generation. Betsy Sweeny and Alex Panas, familiar faces within the business for the past year, step into ownership with a deep respect for what Good Mansion Wines has always been. As its new stewards, their approach is thoughtful, continuing what people love while bringing renewed attention to the experience that have long defined the shop. Good Mansion Wines moves forward with the support of its community, honoring what has always made it special while continuing to grow.
