If you work or live in Downtown Wheeling, then mark your calendars for an afternoon concert series that kicks off on Friday, July 15. Wheeling Heritage recently announced the return of Lunchtime Live!, a monthly concert series held on the third Friday of each month from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Market Street Plaza.
Lunchtime Live! invites you to enjoy their lunch hour outdoors while listening to live music from local artists. The July 15 concert will feature Melody Rae, an alternative singer-songwriter inspired by indie-pop, folk, and Americana artists. The free concert series will continue on the third Friday of each month through October with performances by Jason Treuman, Tucker Riggleman and Chelsey Keding.
This year’s lineup features a slate of well-known artists as well as newcomers to the local music scene. The series kicks off in July with a performance by Melody Rae, who sings a variety of soulful, original songs that are sometimes bitter, sometimes sweet, and always entertaining. Local favorite Jason Treuman has performed throughout the country playing hits from the 50s through today. Tucker Riggleman has been a fixture in the West Virginia independent music scene for over 15 years as a label owner, promoter, booking agent, and (most importantly) as a songwriter. Sometimes punk, often country-leaning, and always rock and roll in spirit, Riggleman’s catalog of songs pull from an eclectic list of influences while maintaining a voice all his own. Chelsey Keding has an extensive professional background in both the performing and healing arts. She has performed everything from opera and musical theatre, to singing in a rock band and gospel choir. Chelsey will perform a variety of familiar songs for the crowd at Lunchtime Live!

Lunchtime Live! began in 2018 to provide new ways for people to experience Downtown Wheeling.
“After taking a couple of years off, we are excited to be bringing back this beloved lunchtime concert series,” said Alex Panas, program manager for Wheeling Heritage. “Our mission is to be a catalyst for the revitalization of Wheeling, and one way we do that is by creating experiences like this that give people who work, live and visit Downtown Wheeling something fun to look forward to.”
This concert series is sponsored by The Health Plan, one of the largest locally managed care organizations in West Virginia.
“We are thrilled to be a part of an event of this type here in downtown Wheeling,” said Jeff Knight, President and CEO of The Health Plan. “When we made the commitment to build our new headquarters in Wheeling, we envisioned events of this type to take hold and revive the spirit of the downtown. Lunchtime Live! kicks off July 15 starting at 11 a.m. and will continue every third Friday through October. Guests are encouraged to grab lunch from nearby restaurants before making their way to Market Plaza for the concert. This concert series is also supported in partnership with the city of Wheeling.
