“We want to create dynamic relationships between the Public Market and local charitable organizations,” said Matt Porter, General Manager of the Public Market. “We all share a goal of impacting the community positively, so why not combine our platforms through synergy?”
This event will benefit the Belmont County Animal Shelter, an animal shelter located in Saint Clairsville, Ohio whose mission is to support saving the lives of strays, by reuniting lost pets with their owners and protecting people and pets from health-related issues. The goals of this event will be to raise awareness of the crucial work the Belmont County Animal Shelter provides; foster community connection; and give community members the chance to meet some very cute dogs that are up for adoption. The Public Market hopes this will be the first of many events with other non-profit organizations and charities in the area.

“Our mission at BCAS is to care for animals in need and find them loving, forever homes, as well as enforcing the laws in the Ohio revised code,” said Lisa Williams, Belmont County Dog Warden.
Customers at the Public Market have several ways to support the Belmont County Animal Shelter. When checking out at the register, customers can round up their transaction to the nearest dollar as a donation. Every Friday, 10% of each special sold from the kitchen will also be donated to the Belmont County Animal Shelter. Additionally, donation items such as newspapers, blankets, dog toys, and soft treats will be accepted during the Dog Adoption Day on March 31.
