Wheeling, WV The Ohio County Family Resource Network has partnered with area nonprofits through their Partners in Prevention Team to bring some good news to the community in a safe way. Everyone is invited virtually on Wednesday, April 28 from 6:30-7:30 pm via the organization’s Facebook page through a live streaming event.

The Bright Side Ohio County was inspired by an event in Fayette County held by their Chamber of Commerce. Planning committee member Amanda White of The Health Plan participated in the Fayette County event and was impressed by how uplifting and educational the event was. “After participating in Fayette County, I brought the idea to Claudia Raymer of the Ohio County Family Resource Network and she immediately agreed this would be a great event for Ohio County, especially in April during Child Abuse Prevention Month,” explained White.

The planning team for Ohio County also includes representatives from Youth Services System, CASA for Children, Unicare, and the Adolescent Health Initiative. Raymer stated, “This event will highlight stories from people right here in Ohio County. We have eight people who will speak for a few minutes each with a question-and-answer session after each group of four. The goal is to spread awareness of programs and people in Ohio County that help children live happy, healthy lives.”

Community members who view the live stream and interact via comments and questions will have their names entered into door prize drawings which include a week of Oglebay Institute Summer Camp and gift cards to local businesses. To view the live stream, no registration is required, simply view the Ohio County Family Resource Network Facebook page at www.facebook.com/OCFRN. Bright Side presentations are beneficial to the citizens of the county, non-political, not a business advertisement and last no more than five minutes.
