Non-Profits Work Together to Celebrate Good News in Ohio County

The Ohio County Family Resource Network has partnered with area non-profits through their Partners in Prevention Team to bring some good news to the community. Everyone is invited virtually on Monday, April 25 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. via the organization’s Facebook page through a live streaming event.

The Bright Side Ohio County was inspired by an event in Fayette County held by their Chamber of Commerce last year. Planning committee member Amanda White of The Health Plan participated in the Fayette County event and was impressed by how uplifting and educational the event was.  “After participating in Fayette County, I brought the idea to Claudia Raymer of the Ohio County Family Resource Network and she immediately agreed this would be a great event for Ohio County, especially in April during Child Abuse Prevention Month,” explained White. Raymer added, “This will be the second year for our Bright Side Ohio County event. The 2021 event was a great success, and we are looking forward to sharing more good news with the community.”  The planning team for Ohio County also includes representatives from CASA for Children and the Adolescent Health Initiative.  Raymer went on to say, “This event will highlight stories from people right here in Ohio County. We have six people who will speak for a few minutes each with a question-and-answer session so that those watching on Facebook can ask more about the speakers’ experiences. The goal is to spread awareness of programs and people in Ohio County that help children live happy, healthy lives.”
