Ohio River Splashtacular Set for June 8 at Wheeling’s Heritage Port

WHEELING, W.Va. — A new summer event at Heritage Port promises to make waves for a great cause. The Ohio River Splashtacular: Making Waves for Easterseals, presented by Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration, will offer an afternoon of family-friendly fun and thrilling entertainment on Sunday, June 8, from noon to 4 p.m

Water Ski Show to Headline the Day

The highlight of the day will be two jaw-dropping performances by Ohio’s only competitive water ski show team, the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team. Each 40-minute show will feature barefoot skiing, ramp jumps, and even human pyramids performed on the Ohio River.

“We believe this is the first time Wheeling has had a water ski show team perform on the Ohio River. It will be a spectacular show you won’t want to miss!” said Betsy Bethel-McFarland, marketing director at Easterseals.

Live Music, Splash Pad, and Family Activities

In addition to the ski shows, the Splashtacular will offer a variety of fun summer-themed activities:

  • Live music by R.J. Gaudio – Troubadour

  • Smiley Ann’s Photo Van

  • Educational science demonstrations by SMART Centre Market

  • Access to the City of Wheeling’s new splash pad

  • A chance to tour a docked river barge towboat

Admission is free.

Ohio River Splashtacular
This Yamaha Jet Blaster DLX from Bridgeport Equipment and Tool is the grand prize in a raffle to benefit Easterseals as part of the Ohio River Splashtacular event. Tickets are available now at Easterseals, Gary Dietz-Allstate and SMART Centre Market in Wheeling; Tommy’s Classic Touch in Wellsburg; and Original PJ’s Pizza in Moundsville and New Martinsville.

Raffles and Prizes

Attendees can take part in several raffles, including:

  • Grand Prize: A Yamaha Jet Blaster DLX personal watercraft

  • Second & Third Prizes: $1,000 in groceries

  • Additional Raffles: A large basket raffle and 50/50 drawing
