What’s Happening Around Town

Centre Market

Don’t miss the balloon drop at 10:15 am at the top of the Upper Market House, with each balloon containing an exclusive gift or discount to businesses in and around Centre Market. 

Heritage Port

From 1 pm – 5 pm, you’ll be able to lace up your skates and enjoy skating on a synthetic ice rink, sponsored by the City of Wheeling! The ice rink will be at street level adjacent to the flag pole at Heritage Port.

Inaugural Feral Faire artist market on the 3rd floor of Waterfront Hall. 15+ vendors and artisans will be set up to share their work from 2pm-7pm. A ticketed after party with live music from Stone Campus, Casket Candy, and Cokeworks will follow from 8pm-11pm. Come on out and get festive and spooky!

Public Market

The Wheeling Artisan Center

Join Emily Rouse of Edgington Studio from 10am – 1pm at the Wheeling Artisan Center! Take part in a free, hands-on Holiday Decoration Hand Sewing Come & Go Workshop—perfect for all ages—and make a project you can complete on-site or take home. She will also have her new book, THREADY, SET, SEW!, on location! This sew-by-color activity book teaches nine beginner hand-sewing techniques with all materials included. From fixing buttons to mending hems, learn valuable skills and grab the book as a perfect holiday gift. You can also check out the book here.

Drawing on herbal traditions and evidence-based practices, Jennifer crafts clean, effective alternatives for everyday self-care. Her small-batch products include herbal salves, tallow-based body butters, and non-toxic candles made with certified organic ingredients. Each formula is created with intention and purity, supporting wellness through simple, earth-honoring practices.

Market Plaza

A beautiful, live Christmas tree will be up for you to take all the best downtown photos! Be sure to hop off the bus to check out Market Plaza businesses and the new tree donated Top Notch Landscaping and Supply, decorated with handcrafted ornaments by the children of the Ohio Valley.

Park Once, Shop All Day!

Avoid the fear of parallel parking in Downtown Wheeling by hopping on OVRTA’s free transportation! Park for free at the Robert C. Byrd Intermodal Transportation Center. The bus will make stops at Centre Market, Wesbanco Arena Box Office, and Market Plaza from 10 am – 4 pm. Look for the Trolley Stop Flags!
