United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley Mask Collection Provided April 8, 2020 Critical Mask Shortage In Medical Facilities Creates Volunteer Opportunity Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). We are asking volunteers who have the ability to sew to make masks. The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley will collect crafted masks in designated bins in two outside locations. The bins will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at Wheeling Health Right located at 61 29th St., Wheeling, and CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists at 204 W. Main St. in St. Clairsville. When dropping masks off at CARE, please be thoughtful when a funeral is taking place. Masks will be donated to needed facilities in Ohio County and Belmont County. Please note that the pattern requires 100 percent cotton material. If elastic is unavailable for ear loops, it is acceptable for ties to be made from the fabric. Wanting to Help?
