Wheeling Symphony Board Announces “Set the Table” Fundraiser

Wheeling Symphony Orchestra (WSO) Board of Directors along with title sponsor Fiesta Tableware Company announces Set the Table – a unique fundraiser to support the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. The event will be held at The Catholic Charities Center Building on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and will feature 20 holiday-themed table designs for viewing and inspiration along with “add-on” demonstrations and workshops.  A Preview Cocktail Party will take place on Friday, November 10 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Twenty holiday-themed tablescapes created by local artists and designers will be the “centerpiece” of Set the Table, a unique holiday fundraiser to support the Wheeling Symphony. Admire and gain inspiration from tables decorated in seasonal themes ranging from “Candyland” to “Autumn Bounty” and even “Barbie’s New Year’s Eve.” In addition, guests can participate in add-on workshops and demonstrations on holiday florals, microgreens, cocktails, or napkin folding. Each workshop is a hands-on experience where an expert in their field will teach attendees how to take their parties and gatherings to the next level. The event starts at 10 am on Saturday, November 11, with tickets available for purchase at the door. Workshop space is limited to 40 and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For a full schedule of workshops, visit the WSO website.

The night before on November 10, the WSO will host a special Preview Cocktail Party from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cocktail party will feature a special demonstration from Sarris Candies, sharing delicious chocolate treats.

To top it all off, Set the Table will include a raffle of two exciting prizes: a fully loaded rolling bar cart and a tablescape from Fiesta Dinnerware’s Nutcracker Collection. Tickets for these raffles are $10 per entry and can be purchased on the WSO website; winners need not be present to win.

“We are always on the lookout for new ways to raise funds for the orchestra,” says Vicky Musicaro, event co-chair. “Oftentimes people are looking for new ideas for their holiday tables and décor and Set the Table will provide plenty of inspiration from twenty talented local designers and artists who have been challenged to create tablescapes around the seasonal celebrations of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. With our ‘add on’ workshops, guests can incorporate a few new skills into their plans for holiday entertaining.”

General admission tickets to the November 11 event are $20 per person and kids 10 and under are free. Add-on demonstrations and workshops are $25 per person, per workshop, and are limited to 40 participants. Workshop participants will enjoy samples or takeaways.
