The local nonprofit dedicated to engaging young professionals in the Ohio Valley will celebrate one year of serving area youth on Wednesday, September 17th.
WHEELING, W.Va. (September 11, 2025) — Why Don’t You Stay Awhile will host a celebratory Evening Buzz at Waterfront Hall starting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 17th. This Evening Buzz will feature a civics chat by the Mayor of Wheeling, Denny Magruder, Peyton Bourgeois of Two Times as the host, giveaways by Outdated Threads and Rising Up Yoga, DJ Layzify, and a special performance by Wheeling Symphony Orchestra.
Entrance to the event is free for Why Don’t You Stay Awhile members and $10 for non-members.

“Gathering mindsets of excitement, possibility, and progress across all demographics within the Ohio Valley to support our young people has been fulfilling and inspiring,” said Spencer Porter, Founder and Executive Director of Why Don’t You Stay Awhile.”
“This celebration is a culmination of the dedication of numerous individuals and organizations, especially Waterfront Hall and Wheeling Heritage for their generous sponsorships, throughout the year.”

Why Don’t You Stay Awhile was recently named as a recipient of a partnership grant made possible by Wheeling Heritage. This $1,000 grant will be applied directly to the September Evening Buzz.
