Looking to burn off some of those Thanksgiving calories? Lace up your sneakers and join us for the Turkey Trot 5K, slated for Saturday, Nov. 25 at Oglebay. The race will begin and end in the Good Zoo parking lot.
The cost to participate is $15. Race registration is available online at https://goo.gl/czx1HT until 11:59 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 23. Race Day Registration will open at 9 a.m. in the upper Good Zoo parking lot. Only cash and checks will be accepted on race day. The first 30 registered participants will receive a t-shirt. First, second and third place finishers for both men and women will receive Oglebay gift cards of varying denominations. Light refreshments will be provided. The course will consist of the Susan Wheeler and Arboretum Trails that weave throughout the park. This hard-surface course is stroller friendly. Leashed dogs are encouraged to participate.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Oglebay Foundation’s Access to the Parks project. Founded in 1999, the Access to the Parks project allows youngsters who could not ordinarily afford the facility fees at Oglebay and Wheeling Park to visit and enjoy their favorite recreational activities on a regular basis.
