Eight Years of REStyle

Brand names with a better price point!

Rebecca Stahl has always had a love for secondhand shopping and thrifting. “I grew up going to yard sales with my mom every weekend, and that kind of stuck with me,” Rebecca shared. She worked at a consignment shop during college and really loved it.

Eight years ago, Rebecca had the opportunity to open her own consignment shop.

“When I had the chance to open my own shop, it felt like a no-brainer and here we are almost 8 years now, which is kind of crazy to think about!” Rebecca expressed.

The shop has grown into something that really reflects Rebecca and what she loves. The “RES” in REStyle is capitalized because those are Rebecca’s initials!

Why Secondhand is Important to Rebecca

Rebecca has always been a big proponent of secondhand shopping. “There’s already so much good stuff out there that doesn’t need to be replaced with something new. Like TONS of stuff that will eventually end up in a landfill because everything is cheaply made and mass produced anymore.” Rebecca said. One of the best things about thrifting is that you can find things that are actually unique. In addition, you can get so much more for your money.

“Almost all of the shop is thrifted including almost all of the decor, the clothing racks were purchased secondhand, chairs, mirrors, and even some of the plants were bought at yard sales,” Rebecca shared.

How to Consign at REStyle

Rebecca tries to make consigning fairly simple. REStyle will take in gently used pieces that fit the style of the shop, go through everything, and then price it and put it out on the floor. Once your items sell, the consignor will get a percentage of the sale. “It’s a great way to clear out your closet and make a bit of money, and it keeps items from going unused,”Rebecca shared. Anything that is not able to be sold is donated.

A beautifully curated space to shop!

“I love consigning with REStyle! It’s an easy way to keep my clothing in rotation and make a little extra money too! I also love shopping at REStyle. I have found some of my favorite high-quality staple pieces from there for a fraction of what it would have cost me to purchase new. The store is always very clean and organized, as well!”- Addie B.

Favorite sweet treat from Centre Market:  I have a sweet tooth so anything from American Pies & Pastries or ice cream from Barb at Wood & Stitches.

The best thrift find you ever scored: Definitely all of the mirrors I’ve collected over the years that are hung throughout the shop. At home, my best thrift find is my large collection of vintage Pyrex and Fiestaware.
