WVU President Gee to Speak at Annual Boy Scout Partnership Dinner

The Ohio River Valley Council Boy Scouts of America announced that West Virginia University President E. Gordon Gee will be the keynote speaker at their annual partnership dinner.

The event is set for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16, at Oglebay Park’s Wilson Lodge Glessner Auditorium in Wheeling with a sponsorship reception starting at 5 p.m.

A leader in higher education for more than three decades, Gee is serving in his second tenure as the institution’s president, a position he’s held since 2014.

Recently, the website Great Value Colleges named him the nation’s top university president. In addition to his service at West Virginia University, Gee served as president of The Ohio State University (twice), Vanderbilt University, Brown University and the University of Colorado.

Proceeds from the partnership dinner will benefit programming, camping and activities within the council.

The Ohio River Valley Council is one of the largest youth serving agencies in the Ohio Valley, serving more than 2,000 scouts in Northern West Virginia and Eastern Ohio.
