Friends of the Ohio County Library are bringing back the Spelling Bee for Grown-Ups! The second annual event will take place Saturday, February 21, at the Ohio County Public Library Auditorium, with Laura Jackson returning as host and DJ Jermaine Lucious keeping the energy up.

The Bee will feature up to ten teams competing for spelling glory—and bragging rights for best costumes. Teams of 2–6 spellers will work together to tackle each word, with one designated team member spelling the final answer. Team registration is $100, and teams are encouraged to sign up by February 7.
Not interested in spelling? No problem. Audience members can attend for $10, cheer on their favorite teams, and even help out by donating extra cash to give a team a chance to re-spell a missed word—all while supporting the Ohio County Public Library.
All registrations include a current-year membership to the Friends of the Ohio County Public Library. Tickets and team registration are available at:

FOCPL President Dr. Charles Julian shared his excitement about the event’s return:
“We’re thrilled to bring back the Spelling Bee after such a fun and successful first year. It’s a great way for the community to come together, have a laugh, and support our library. Last year, the event raised nearly $3,000, which went toward new furniture for the Library.”
The Friends of the Ohio County Public Library, Inc. is a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the Library’s programs, services, and resources for the benefit of Ohio County and the surrounding area. To learn more, follow the Friends on Facebook or email friends@ohiocountylibrary.org.
