Center Wheeling

Center Wheeling is the vibrant neighborhood sandwiched between Downtown and South Wheeling. In the 19th and 20th centuries, Center Wheeling grew with a deep immigrant influence, especially German and Eastern European, that is still reflected in the neighborhood. Center Wheeling includes two national historic districts: Centre Market Square and Chapline Street Row.

Center Wheeling is home to the Centre Market, made up of two historic market houses. Today, Centre Market houses art galleries and food vendors and is surrounded by bustling antique shops, boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. Other amenities such as shops, offices, home improvement stores, a theatre, places of worship, and the main Wheeling Post Office are available in Center Wheeling or within walking distance. Located amidst the city streets, I-70, and Route 250, Center Wheeling is ideal for commuting and quick access to other parts of Wheeling.

The neighborhood is built around Centre Market, two market houses full of local retailers and restaurants.

Center Wheeling is home to lots of eclectic food and shops. From a creperie to world-renowned fish sandwiches, antique shops to boutique fashion, the neighorhood is full of fun surprises!
